The role
What you'll be doing
You will deliver defined risk, compliance and control activities for the business area(s) you are aligned to, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting. You'll support control design, operation and testing, providing practical insight and constructive challenge to improve effectiveness.
You will also maintain and support the development of risk profiles, and assess risk and control impacts arising from change and transformation initiatives to support effective implementation.
You may be required to interpret and apply relevant regulatory and conduct requirements, helping teams operate in line with expectations.
Additionally, you will co-ordinate regular and ad hoc reporting requirements and respond to business needs, contributing insight and analysis to governance processes.
You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across risk and business teams, building and maintaining positive relationships, and sharing knowledge and best practice. You'll promote an inclusive, positive and proactive risk culture, encouraging sustainable ownership of risk and control.
About you
We're looking for someone who brings relevant financial services experience, sound judgement and the confidence to influence constructively. As a minimum, you'll have:
Relevant experience in risk, compliance, controls or operational roles within financial services.
A strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and solid knowledge of non-financial risk frameworks.
Experience of supporting risk identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting or control activity
The ability to act objectively, use sound judgement and provide constructive challenge
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and report on complex information, identify trends or anomalies and present recommendations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels and teams and build stakeholder relationships
A clear focus on improving risk and control effectiveness and delivering good customer outcomes
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers' shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
