The role
What you'll be doing
You'll primarily undertake testing by facilitating sessions with supplier SMEs to evidence the requirements set out in the central framework. There is also an element of desktop assessment, where evidence has been shared outside of these sessions. The framework covers a broad range of risk categories, assessed using a risk-based approach, including Information Security, Business Continuity, IT, HR, Data Governance, Economic Crime, Payments, Complaints, Subcontractors, ESG, Member Protection and Conflicts of Interest.
You'll maintain robust documentation that clearly articulates judgements, rationale and supporting evidence, helping to support the drafting of control testing issues and reports.
You'll share reporting outputs with internal Supplier Relationship Managers and relevant risk functions, ensuring action plans are put in place to address areas requiring remediation and that these are seen through to completion.
Extensive on-the-job training will complement your existing experience and self-motivation to learn, providing the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the role. The varied nature of testing is supported by an ongoing Route to Competency.
We are an inquisitive team that drives continuous improvement at pace, and you'll have the opportunity to shape and evolve the way we work to deliver maximum value for the Society.
About you
As a minimum requirement you'll have
- Experience in one or more risk categories in the framework
- Experience in control testing or sound understanding of control testing principles and methodologies
- Able to support the production of high-quality outputs that provide clear insight
- A confident communicator at all levels, with experience building effective relationships and stakeholder management
- Self-motivated, with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team and learn new topics at pace
- Time management and organisational skills with a drive to achieve goals across competing demands
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers' shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
