The role

We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative at our Telford dairy site, supporting a fast-paced food manufacturing and automated warehouse operation.

The ideal candidate will hold valid forklift licences, including counterbalance, and will bring extensive manufacturing, warehouse and systems experience, with confidence working around operational equipment, stock systems, quality standards and continuous improvement activity.

As our warehouse operation continues to become more automated and technology-driven, successful candidates will need to be comfortable working with multiple software systems, troubleshooting operational issues, and supporting the efficient running of our warehouse control processes. System knowledge and digital capability are becoming key skills for future progression within the team.

What you'll do

  • Operate safely and effectively within a high-volume food manufacturing and warehouse environment, following site procedures, safe systems of work and hygiene standards.
  • Use forklift equipment, including counterbalance trucks, to move, store and supply materials in line with operational requirements.
  • Support production lines by ensuring materials are available on time, scanned accurately and moved to the correct locations throughout the system.
  • Maintain accurate stock control, goods issuing, receipt of materials, traceability and stock rotation processes, supporting the management of stock discrepancies where required.
  • Use warehouse systems such as SAP/EWM and transport systems to support accurate material movements, stock visibility and operational performance.
  • Identify, respond to and escalate operational, equipment, process or quality issues quickly to minimise disruption to production and protect product standards.
  • Work confidently around high-speed machinery, automated warehouse processes and manufacturing plant, including supporting basic fault finding and rectification where appropriate.
  • Maintain GMP, hygiene, quality and audit standards within the warehouse, supporting checks, audits and follow-up actions as required.
  • Share technical knowledge with team members to support capability, consistency and continuous improvement.
