The role
The Role
We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Events & Sales Manager to manage our booking team, and lead the events, private dining and group bookings function at Mowgli Street Food.
Events are an increasingly important part of Mowgli. From large celebrations and private dining to full venue hires and special events, our restaurants have become go-to destinations for people looking to gather, celebrate and create memorable experiences - with some Mowgli Magic! This role will take ownership of that opportunity - developing and delivering our bookings and events strategy, leading the bookings team and driving sustainable growth in event and private dining sales across the Mowgli estate.
Working closely with our Operations and Marketing teams, you'll ensure we generate the right enquiries, convert them brilliantly and deliver events with impeccable execution and plenty of Mowgli magic.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Events & Bookings Strategy
- Own and develop the Mowgli events, group bookings and private dining strategy, identifying opportunities to grow sales across the estate.
- Build a clear commercial plan for private dining, large-party bookings, venue hires and other event occasions.
- Identify opportunities within the existing restaurant estate to maximise event and private dining revenue.
- Develop new event propositions, packages and experiences that give guests more reasons to choose Mowgli for celebrations and gatherings.
- Build a strong calendar of opportunities across key occasions, seasonal moments and local events.
Sales & Commercial Growth
- Take ownership of event and private dining sales performance, with clear targets and accountability for growth.
- Develop a proactive sales approach alongside inbound booking management, identifying and converting new business opportunities.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, event organisers and other potential partners.
- Develop and manage affiliate partnerships that can generate incremental bookings, including managing the relationship with SquareMeal.
- Identify opportunities to increase booking value through packages, upgrades and additional experiences.
- Track performance and provide clear reporting on enquiries, conversion, revenue, average booking value and future pipeline.
Bookings Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and develop the Mowgli bookings team, creating a high-performing and commercially focused culture.
- Ensure enquiries are handled quickly, warmly and effectively, delivering a brilliant guest experience from the very first interaction.
- Establish clear processes, standards and ways of working across the bookings function.
- Coach the team to maximise conversion while maintaining the distinctive warmth and personality of the Mowgli brand.
- Ensure the team has excellent knowledge of our restaurants, spaces, menus and event possibilities.
Event Management & Delivery
- Manage key events from initial enquiry through to delivery, particularly high-value, high-profile or complex bookings with special requirements.
- Work hand in hand with Operations teams to ensure every event is communicated and briefed clearly and executed brilliantly.
- Work with Marketing and Operations on the development of event formats and experiences that are operationally achievable, commercially successful and unmistakably Mowgli.
- Attend and oversee key events where required, ensuring the guest experience is exceptional from start to finish.
What We're Looking For
You'll be a natural relationship-builder with strong commercial instincts and a genuine love of hospitality. You'll understand that successful events are about much more than filling a room - they require brilliant selling, meticulous organisation and exceptional execution.
You'll ideally bring:
- Strong experience in events, hospitality sales, private dining, venue sales or group bookings.
- A proven track record of driving revenue and delivering against commercial targets.
- Experience leading and developing a sales, bookings or events team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and project-management ability, with confidence managing multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working closely with operational teams to deliver events successfully.
- A proactive sales mindset and confidence generating new business rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Confidence using data and reporting to understand performance, conversion and pipeline.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to influence teams across different functions and locations.
Benefits:
- 30 days paid holiday (pro rata to this length of contract)
- Access 40% of your wage earned before payday
- Have your birthday and your child's first day of school off on Mowgli
- Getting a puppy? Welcome them properly to their new home and enjoy a flexible working week while they settle in!
- Guaranteed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day off
- 50% off food when you visit with family and friends and enjoy free meals on shift
- Work somewhere with purpose- we have raised over £2 million for local and international charities and have committed to working towards a more sustainable future.
