Are you passionate about delivering excellent services to customers and making a positive difference within local communities?
Mansfield District Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Housing Management Assistant to join our Tenancy Services team.
The Housing Management Assistant provides administrative and customer support to the Housing Management team, processing tenancy-related matters, maintaining accurate records, handling customer enquiries and supporting the delivery of housing services. The role helps ensure tenants receive a high-quality service while contributing to tenancy compliance, income maximisation and the achievement of service standards.
Key responsibilities will include
- Process tenancy changes and prepare tenancy documentation.
- Maintain accurate tenant records and housing management systems.
- Manage garage applications, allocations and related administration.
- Support property lettings to minimise void rent loss and maximise income.
- Handle customer enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Provide administrative support for tenancy management, ASB and safeguarding cases.
- Coordinate estate inspections and progress follow-up actions.
- Arrange repairs, contractor services and monitor completion of works.
- Manage door entry fobs, community facility bookings and access records.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, recharges and other financial transactions.
- Monitor tenancy terminations, key returns and void-related processes.
- Liaise with tenants, contractors, partner agencies and internal teams.
- Support the delivery of service standards, performance targets and Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs).
- The successful candidate will have strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. They will provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with a range of people, and maintain accurate records and databases. The postholder will be able to work proactively, use their own initiative, handle sensitive information with discretion, and demonstrate a professional and empathetic approach when supporting customers, including those who may be vulnerable. Experience of housing, tenancy administration or a customer-focused environment would be an advantage.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team and make a genuine difference to the lives of our tenants and communities. In return, we offer a supportive working environment, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to contribute to the delivery of high-quality housing services across Mansfield.
If you thrive on variety, enjoy working with people, and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career in housing, we would love to hear from you.
