Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Operational Support Officer within the Estates & Facilities Security Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Working across Trust-managed sites, you will provide a visible, professional and responsive security presence, supporting duty teams with patrols, welfare checks, traffic and parking activity, site visits and operational duties. A significant part of the role involves driving between different Trust sites throughout the working day and evening, carrying out welfare checks across sites, wards and departments. A Trust vehicle will be provided while on shift. You will also provide additional support during significant incidents and help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, visitors and Trust assets. The post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, alternating weekly between 08:00-16:00 and 16:00-00:00, and will be managed directly by the Security Operations Manager.

We are looking for a proactive, dependable and flexible Security Officer who can work confidently across different Trust locations, use initiative, communicate professionally and respond effectively to changing operational priorities. You will need to be comfortable working independently as well as alongside duty security teams, engaging positively with colleagues across the Trust and providing a high standard of service. Duties will include but not limited to peripheral-site patrols and welfare checks, site walk-rounds, PCN activity, collection of car-park cash boxes, operational deliveries and support during serious incidents. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and a current SIA Door Supervisor licence.
