The role

Where little moments make big futures. Be part of a team that helps children discover the world around them through play, creativity, and hands-on experiences. You’ll work in a welcoming, supportive environment where your ideas are heard, your professional development is supported, and your work truly makes an impact.

We are looking for a Nursery Apprentice to join our Merlin House, Haywards Heath team at Kiddie Capers Childcare. Our apprenticeships let you earn while you learn in a supportive environment, gaining valuable skills and experience along the way. This is your chance to build a rewarding career in childcare and make a lasting difference in the lives of young children during their earliest years.

What you'll do

  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Organise activities, both inside and outside the nursery, which encourage creativity development, co-ordination, independence, self-expression and learning through play.
  • Engage with children in play-based learning activities to promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, nap times and outdoor play.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to provide the best possible care and support for each child.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years or older (this is due to staff-to-child ratio regulations in our nurseries)
  • Achieved a GCSE Grade C/4 in English and Maths
  • A genuine interest in working with children
  • Good communication skills and a positive, caring attitude
  • Must complete necessary background checks (DBS/Right to Work)
