The role

Role: Director of Operations

Location: Remote-first with quarterly travel to Ireland, plus occasional client site visits across the UK

Compensation: From £100,000 onwards (flexible depending on candidate experience)

About the Role

We are working with a fast-growing health technology company whose product is helping NHS trusts and health systems improve patient care.

As the business is expanding across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, they are looking for a VP of Operations & Technical Delivery to lead the entire customer journey after a sale is agreed.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You will oversee day-to-day project delivery, manage Trust implementations, and build the operational processes needed to help the company grow. You should be equally comfortable presenting delivery updates to the board and working directly with NHS IT teams to solve technical interface issues on go-live day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Delivery Lifecycle: Own projects from the point of contract handover through project kick-off, technical build, go-live, and post-launch support.

  • NHS Technical Implementations: Lead solution design and technical delivery for key NHS hospital deployments.

  • Hospital System Integration: Work hands-on with NHS integration teams across EPR, PAS, RIS, and LIMS systems, using standard healthcare interfaces including HL7, FHIR, and MESH.

  • Go-Live Management: Lead cutover planning, CAB approvals, and go/no-go calls, ensuring hazard logs and clinical safety sign-offs are in place before launch.

  • Supplier Coordination: Manage relationships and technical dependencies with third-party healthcare software vendors.

  • Operational Process & Governance: Build repeatable implementation steps, manage team capacity, monitor operational budgets, and ensure delivery meets ISO 13485, ISO 27001, and DTAC requirements.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the implementation and support teams, planning recruitment as the customer base expands.

What We Are Looking For
  • Healthcare & NHS Experience: A proven track record delivering software or SaaS products into NHS trusts and healthcare providers.

  • Technical Integration Skills: Solid, practical understanding of healthcare integrations, specifically HL7 interfaces alongside core systems like EPR, PAS, RIS, or pathology platforms.

  • Clinical Safety & Governance Awareness: Experience working within formal clinical safety standards (DCB0129 / DCB0160) and quality management systems.

  • Leadership & Delivery Ownership: Prior experience leading professional services, implementation, or operations teams in a healthcare software business.

  • Pragmatic, Problem-Solving Approach: Someone who takes direct ownership of customer issues, communicates well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and thrives in a growing company.

What Is on Offer
  • A key leadership position working closely with the CEO and founders.

  • Direct influence over the company's delivery model and international growth.

  • A clear progression route to Chief Operating Officer (COO) as the team and business scale.

  • Flexible, remote-first working with travel for key customer milestones.
