Here at GXO, we're looking for you to join us on our night shift as Warehouse Team Leader based in our Portbury (BS20 7XE) site for our customer Howden's. You'll lead our close knit team of 14 operatives and 2 admin colleagues, reporting into Shift Manager. If you thrive on motivating others, hitting targets, and making a real impact every day, we'd love to hear from you!

Pay, benefits and more

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £36,890.88 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.

What you'll do on a typical day

  • Lead and coordinate daily warehouse operations, ensuring work is planned effectively, priorities are communicated, and customer delivery deadlines are consistently achieved
  • Drive team performance and quality standards, monitoring KPIs, productivity, and customer requirements to ensure operational targets are met
  • Manage and develop colleagues, including inductions, training, coaching, and identifying ongoing development needs to build a high-performing team
  • Promote a safe, compliant, and organised workplace, ensuring housekeeping standards and processes are always followed
  • Support continuous improvement and resource planning, proactively resolving issues, optimising labour utilisation, adjusting staffing levels where required, and escalating non-conformities promptly

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience leading and motivating teams, with a strong track record of driving performance and maintaining high operational standards
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and build positive working relationships
  • A proactive and accountable approach, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can perform effectively under pressure; an MHE Licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck) would be a huge plus!
