Transport Planner

Job Description: At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Transport Planner in our Cullompton depot. This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspect of the transport administration processes and coordination of the day to day running of this busy contract.

• Plan and coordinate vehicle routes to maximise efficiency and service levels.
• Ensure all transport requirements are covered and delivered to customer expectations.
• Complete and maintain accurate transport, compliance, and administrative records.
• Support drivers with daily operations, debriefs, and issue resolution.
• Handle customer, driver, and colleague enquiries via phone and email.
• Communicate collection and delivery schedules accurately and professionally.
• Assist with transport planning, resource allocation, and operational changes.
• Maintain transport systems, reports, and performance data.
• Support payroll administration and employee time and attendance records.
• Monitor compliance with transport legislation, Health & Safety, and company procedures.
• Build positive working relationships with customers, drivers, and colleagues.
• Carry out general administrative duties to support the efficient running of the transport operation.

Location: Cullompton

Shift: 08:00hrs - 17:00hrs, Monday to Friday

• Previous transport planning or logistics industry experience is desirable.
• Good understanding of transport legislation, including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
• Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
• Able to work independently using your own initiative, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
