About the Role

We are looking for a professional and safety‑focused Class 1 Driver to join our team in Bridgwater. In this role, you'll be flexible across multiple contracts, ensuring high standards are kept at all times and work is carried out to the highest compliance standards. This position will involve both Tanker and Curtain-side trailers depending on the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely collect and deliver bulk liquid products to customers. Handling a variety of different liquid loads, including food-grade or regulated products.
• Ensure all loading and unloading procedures are followed in line with industry standards, site rules and product handling requirements.
• Operate curtain‑side or flatbed trailers to safely collect and deliver customer products, ensuring all journeys are completed to a high professional standard.
• Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and protected using appropriate equipment such as straps, nets, and other load‑securing devices to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company‑issued device, maintaining full compliance and always ensuring vehicle reliability.
• Provide excellent customer service face to face and over the phone, always acting as a professional representative of the business.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates and helping manage customer expectations.
• Participate in regular training and development to stay aligned with industry standards, safety requirements, and best practice.
• Demonstrate flexibility within the role to cover

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
