In their own words
About the company & team
Greater Manchester is embarking on an exciting period of transition and evolving with a growing population and economy. Transport for Greater Manchester manage the largest number of traffic signals outside London. The challenge of managing such a large conurbation offers the opportunity to gain a wide breadth of experience.

The Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) team manage the operation of the traffic signals across Greater Manchester. In addition to formulating plans for day-to-day operation, they also develop and implement strategic plans for events such as premiership and international football matches at the Etihad and Old Trafford Stadiums, large concerts, and roadwork schemes. The ITS team also carry out junction modelling, working closely with the IDG team to develop innovative signal solutions.
