The role
Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.
What you'll do
- Lead risk management charters across the EMEA portfolio of energy contracts, utility tariffs, and agreements in close partnership with the Contract and Asset Management team.
- Review the risk of all new Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Grid Connection Agreements, Utility Supply Agreements and investments before execution working with the Commercial Structuring team to agree risk terms early in the agreement.
- Own EMEA portfolio risk metrics and stress-testing models to inform executive decision-making, optimize risk-adjusted resource allocation, and capture economies of scale.
- Work closely with the Contract and Asset Management team to assess schedules, financial exposures, hedging positions, and contract amendments for power assets across European markets.
- Form cross-functional strategic alliances across energy, finance, legal, and accounting, align leadership on key risk communications, and advocate for risk management priorities across the EMEA portfolio.
