Receptionist

Receptionist (Temporary) | Gaucho
Fixed term contract until 3rd January 2027

Gaucho are looking for a warm, welcoming Receptionist to join our restaurant team over the festive season. As the first person our guests meet, you'll set the tone for their visit, making them feel looked after from the moment they arrive.

From managing reservations to keeping a busy service running smoothly, you'll combine great organisation with genuine hospitality. Ideally, you'll have restaurant or hospitality experience, enjoy working in a lively environment and notice the small details that make a difference.

What will you be doing?

• Welcoming guests, managing arrivals and walk-ins, and ensuring a smooth seating pace throughout service.

• Managing reservations through OpenTable, confirming bookings and coordinating table allocations with the restaurant team.

• Handling calls and booking enquiries with a friendly, professional manner.

• Keeping guest and reservation information accurate and using it appropriately, in line with company standards.

• Building your knowledge of our menus and restaurant so you can confidently answer questions and guide guests.

• Working closely with our floor and bar teams to deliver attentive service, including supporting drinks orders when needed.

• Responding thoughtfully to guest concerns and involving the duty manager where appropriate.

• Keeping reception organised, menus stocked and guest facilities checked throughout your shift.

• Supporting takeaway and Deliveroo orders, daily briefings and reception meetings.

• Following our waste management procedures and supporting Gaucho's sustainability initiatives.

• Is organised, reliable and attentive to detail.

• Communicates clearly, with good telephone etiquette and written English.

• Stays calm and positive during a busy service.

• Works well with colleagues and is happy to support other departments.

• Takes pride in professional presentation and high standards.

• Is keen to learn and develop their hospitality skills.

• Ideally has previous restaurant or hospitality experience and familiarity with OpenTable.

This is a temporary role on a fixed term contract ending on 3rd January 2027.
