At FM Conway, we're seeking a talented Rail Coordinator Project Manager to join our Structures division based from our London office. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering essential rail and infrastructure works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.
As a Rail Coordinator Project Manager, you will support the delivery of rail and infrastructure projects while providing critical technical assurance and project management expertise. You'll work closely with the Contracts Manager, designers, subcontractors, clients and delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and within programme and budget.
This role offers a diverse workload covering rail assurance, engineering coordination, project planning, commercial support, stakeholder management and construction delivery across a range of infrastructure projects.
What you'll do
As our Rail Coordinator Project Manager, you will:
- Coordinate rail assurance activities, engineering processes, design reviews and buildability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, company procedures and industry standards, including Network Rail requirements.
- Review and manage project documentation including RAMS, drawings, Work Package Plans and assurance submissions.
- Support tender submissions by providing advice on methodology, buildability, programme and health & safety requirements.
- Develop and monitor programmes, project milestones, resource plans and critical-path activities.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Support commercial reporting, valuations, forecasting and cost control activities.
- Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved plans, procedures and legislation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and lessons learned across projects and teams.
Role and responsibilities
You'll be leading the coordination of technical, operational and commercial activities across live rail and infrastructure projects, ensuring all aspects of delivery align with programme, quality and safety expectations.
Working with multidisciplinary teams, you'll identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, manage project changes and provide assurance that work is being delivered to the highest standards. You'll also contribute to the future success of the business through stakeholder engagement, business development support and continuous improvement initiatives.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an organised and commercially aware Project Manager with experience delivering rail, civils, structures or highways infrastructure projects.
You'll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, coordinating stakeholders and leading project teams in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and performance.
Your skills and experience
As our Rail Coordinator Project Manager, you'll ideally have:
- Demonstrable experience in Project Management within rail, civil engineering, structures or infrastructure environments.
- Experience in resource planning, programme management and budget control.
- Strong stakeholder and subcontractor management skills.
- Knowledge of risk management, scope management and project controls.
- Design management experience and an understanding of construction project delivery.
- Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
- Experience working within rail, structures or highways infrastructure projects.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- A degree-level qualification, HNC, HND or equivalent experience.
- A valid PTS certification would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
