What you'll do

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They're a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure you're comfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you'll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

We don't micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, so there's plenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road. The role is based on 45 paid hours per week, typically worked as 9 paid hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an additional 1-hour unpaid break each day.

You'll make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others, you'll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You'll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
