The role

Join a team where your expertise can help shape how one of the UK's largest construction projects learns, improves and strengthens safety performance. At EDF, Success is Personal. As an Investigations Specialist, you'll lead complex investigations that help drive meaningful change while developing a career that's unique to you.

What you'll do

As an Investigations Specialist, you'll play a key role in helping the Hinkley Point C project meet its commitment to learning from incidents, improving safety standards and strengthening compliance across site operations. You'll lead complex investigations from start to finish, identifying root causes, driving corrective actions and helping embed lasting improvements across the project.

You'll also help develop investigation capability across the project by coaching investigators, delivering training and sharing best practice. From supporting senior stakeholders to identifying trends that improve future performance, you'll have a direct impact on both conventional and nuclear safety outcomes.

  • Leading complex and cross-project investigations from initiation through to closure
  • Identifying root causes, recommending corrective actions and embedding learning across the project
  • Providing specialist guidance and support to trained investigators and sponsoring managers
  • Delivering investigator training and promoting best practice across the investigation community
  • Analysing investigation trends and providing insights that improve safety and performance

The Opportunity

You'll join us on a salary starting of £55,000 per annum, with the potential for an annual bonus. This role is based at #HinkleyPointC, with an expectation to be on site four days per week. You'll work closely with specialists and stakeholders from across the project, giving you exposure to one of the most significant infrastructure programmes supporting the journey towards An Electric Britain.

  • Applying recognised investigation and root cause analysis techniques to a high standard
  • Coaching, mentoring or supporting others in incident investigation methodologies
  • Working with cross-functional teams to deliver investigation outcomes and improvement actions

  • Producing high-quality investigation reports and written analysis
  • Interpreting health and safety legislation and applying it within an operational environment
  • Analysing investigation data and trends to identify improvement opportunities
