What you'll do

  • Deliver engineering support to manufacturing and assembly operations, helping ensure production achieves required standards for quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between the Engineering and Manufacturing functions, providing practical guidance and resolving production-related engineering issues.
  • Contribute to product and process reviews, assessing designs for manufacturability to support efficient and error-free production.
  • Facilitate PFMEA workshops, develop process flows, and implement actions to minimise risk and enhance operational performance.
  • Produce, update, and control manufacturing documentation, including engineering drawings, routings, work instructions, technical specifications, and production records.
  • Develop tooling, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing processes that support safe, repeatable, and high-quality production methods.
  • Work closely with cross-functional departments and external suppliers to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and overall operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.

For the Manufacturing Engineer position, we are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, supported by a solid knowledge of machining operations and assembly techniques.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, generate manufacturing documentation, and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles effectively.
  • Experience in CNC programming, manufacturing process optimisation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a production environment.
  • Competence in engineering software and business systems, including SAP and both 2D and 3D CAD platforms.

How you'll work

The successful Manufacturing Engineer will be easily able to commute to the employer from surrounding towns & cities, including Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield and Brighouse.
