Job summary
In the Department of Health and Social Care, we are proud of our purpose - to enable everyone to live more independent, healthier lives for longer. To achieve this, and create a great place to work, we have four values: we are inclusive, we constantly improve, we challenge, and we are agile. If this sounds like an environment you would like to work in, we would love to hear from you.
DHSC operates a hybrid casework service. The Ministry of Justice Civil Service HR Casework Services provides core casework support, while our small in-house team leads the most complex, sensitive, high-risk and high-profile matters. Working closely with senior leaders, managers, HR colleagues and legal advisers, the team provides expert advice, strengthens governance and uses insight from cases to improve services, enhance the employee experience and reduce future casework risk. You will join the department at a pivotal time of significant organisational transformation, with the opportunity to be at the forefront of this journey and help shape how casework services evolve to meet future needs.

Working with managers, HR colleagues, legal advisers and other stakeholders, you will provide clear, practical and proportionate advice so cases are managed fairly, consistently and in line with employment law, departmental policy, governance and business needs.
The role will also contribute to:
- strengthening governance, reducing employment and litigation risk, and improving service quality and consistency; and supporting preparation for the transition of NHS England functions into DHSC in 2027.
