The role
Role: Senior Data Engineer
How you'll work
Location: Burgess Hill, Hybrid (3 days a week)
Employment: Fulltime
Required skill set
Senior hands-on Data/Database Engineer with strong expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL, plus practical experience with Cassandra, MongoDB, and/or Couchbase.
Strong experience in database engineering, performance tuning, schema deployment, high availability, resilience, security and troubleshooting across enterprise environments.
Strong automation/DevOps mindset, using Ansible, Terraform, Python/Shell, Infrastructure as Code, Git and CI/CD to automate database provisioning and deployments.
Experience working closely with Application Teams and Data Architects on new initiatives, database migrations, modernisation, and production deployments, rather than a traditional DBA-only role.
Preferably experienced in financial services/banking or regulated environments.
