Class 1 Lorry Driver

We're looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our Plant team, supporting the delivery, collection and exchange of plant and equipment across the UK.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be responsible for transporting equipment safely and efficiently to customer sites, helping to position and set it up where required. You'll also assist with loading and unloading, checking equipment and making sure everything is ready for its next hire.

You'll be representing Clancy when dealing with customers, so a professional approach, good communication and a focus on providing a reliable service are just as important as your driving skills.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in...

• Delivering, collecting and exchanging plant and equipment at customer sites across the UK.
• Positioning equipment safely on site and carrying out any required set-up.
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of equipment from delivery vehicles.
• Carrying out checks on equipment before delivery and recording its condition and any damage when returned from hire.
• Ensuring vehicles, equipment and associated paperwork are maintained and completed correctly.
• Complying with driving hours, tachograph requirements and all relevant transport legislation.
• Carrying out dynamic risk assessments and following Clancy's health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Working closely with the Plant and Transport teams to make sure deliveries and collections run smoothly.
• Providing a professional and helpful service when dealing with customers.

We would love to hear from you if...

You hold a valid Class 1 HGV driving licence (C+E), have a Driver CPC and have previous experience driving heavy goods vehicles, 7.5 tonnes and above. You will have a good understanding of tachograph operation and drivers' hours regulations.

You're reliable, flexible and comfortable working outdoors in a busy environment. You'll take pride in looking after your vehicle and equipment, work safely and be happy to travel throughout the UK, including staying away overnight when required.

Previous experience working with plant and equipment would be an advantage, but isn't essential. A loading and unloading qualification would also be desirable, along with any plant movement, HIAB, clamshell or winch qualifications.
