Intro

Cedar is currently partnered with a PE-backed transport group to secure an Interim Group FP&A Manager, based in Central London. This six-month assignment pays £550 per day, inside IR35, with three days per week in the office.

Reporting to the FP&A Director, the role will provide additional resource to support group planning and performance reporting, alongside improvements to meet the requirements of private equity ownership.

The Company

The business is an established transport group with a complex operational environment. Following its move into private equity ownership, the finance function is responding to additional reporting requirements and strengthening the quality of its financial analysis, forecasting and management information.

The Role

Working closely with finance and operational stakeholders across the group, your responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordinating group budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning, challenging assumptions and consolidating business-level submissions.
  • Producing group performance reporting, with clear commentary on variances, underlying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting additional reporting requirements for senior leadership and private equity stakeholders.
  • Developing financial models and scenario analysis to assess financial and operational performance.
  • Partnering with operating businesses to understand revenue, cost and profitability drivers, translating analysis into practical recommendations.
  • Improving the consistency, accuracy and efficiency of planning and reporting processes across the group.
  • Supporting ad hoc analysis and strategic projects for the FP&A Director.

Your Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with substantial FP&A or commercial finance experience.
  • Experience delivering budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis within a group or multi-entity environment.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with complex financial and operational data, challenging assumptions and explaining performance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with senior finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Demonstrable experience improving financial models, reporting outputs or planning processes.
  • Experience within a PE-backed business ideally with interim roles.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential; Power Query, Power Pivot, TM1 or Oracle experience would be beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits

The assignment is offered for an initial six months at £550 per day, inside IR35. The role is based in Central London, with hybrid working requiring three days per week in the office.
