The role

The role: Cyber Security Engineer

Our cyber security engineers build and develop the technical security solutions that keep our airline and our customers safe from cyber-attack. In this role, you will focus on engineering and improving SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) and Non-Employee Risk Management (NERM) capabilities, supporting identity governance and the secure lifecycle management of non-employees. Working with BA colleagues around the world, the BA Cyber Team and IAG Tech, you'll create and maintain capabilities that meet our requirements and our threats. You will report into our Cyber Security Engineering Manager.

What you'll do

  • Build and support identity security capabilities within SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) and Non-Employee Risk Management (NERM) to mitigate threats to British Airways.
  • Align SailPoint ISC and NERM engineering with a threat and risk-led strategy, enabling BA to strengthen identity governance while minimising operational overheads.
  • Maintain a working understanding of modern attacker techniques and procedures, ensuring that existing and future tools and capabilities are effective and proportionate.
  • Proactively assess and improve SailPoint ISC and NERM configurations, workflows, integrations and controls to ensure effective and sustainable protection.
  • Keep up to date with identity governance, SailPoint product developments and industry trends so that relevant capabilities can be adopted as they mature.
  • Develop an understanding of the functions within the broader organisation and their respective priorities and needs. Use this understanding to ensure that needs are met.
