The role

The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. LTC is a new road that will connect Kent and Essex through a tunnel beneath the River Thames and will be the greenest road ever built in the UK - creating six times more green space than road. The reliable new route will almost double road capacity over the river east of London to reduce congestion and give millions of people more choice on where they live, work and spend their valuable time.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BIM professional to play a key role within the Methods team, supporting complex construction planning through innovative modelling, technical drawings, and digital delivery solutions. The role will work across multiple project areas, collaborating with engineering, BIM, GIS, and wider project teams.

What you'll do

• Producing accurate 2D and 3D models to support construction methodology and delivery planning
• Assembling and coordinating models from multiple formats and sources
• Creating 3D construction sequence models and equipment installation visualisations
• Producing 2D PDF drawings extracted from 3D models
• Supporting engineers with AutoCAD drafting when required
• Extracting project data including quantities, distances, and coordinates from models
• Managing document control and ensuring deliverables are stored correctly within project systems such as ProjectWise
• Collaborating closely with engineering, BIM, GIS, and project delivery teams

Key Competencies Required

  • Strong technical capability in BIM modelling and digital construction tools
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage workload independently
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to develop practical modelling solutions
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive and adaptable approach within a fast-paced project environment
  • Commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement

Essential experience and skills

This is a fantastic opportunity to become the first dedicated 3D BIM Technician within the project team, offering the chance to shape processes, add real value, and make a visible impact on a major infrastructure programme.
