Van Driver

Location: Mere Park Garden Centre
Contract: Fixed-term until 8 January 2027
Hours: 1 day per week, 9:00am - 5:30pm (8 hours)
Working pattern: Flexible, Monday to Friday

Mere Park Garden Centre is looking for a reliable and friendly Van Driver to join the team on a part-time, fixed-term basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys driving, takes pride in providing good customer service and is happy to get stuck in to support the day-to-day running of the garden centre.

Working one day per week, with flexibility over which weekday you work, you will be responsible for delivering customer purchases safely and efficiently, ensuring goods arrive in excellent condition and providing a positive experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver customer purchases safely and efficiently, ensuring deliveries arrive on time.

• Load and unload the van, taking care when handling items to avoid damage.

• Provide friendly and helpful customer service at the point of delivery.

• Plan delivery routes effectively to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

• Carry out basic vehicle checks and report any issues or maintenance requirements.

• Keep the van clean, tidy and presentable.

• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.

• Support the wider team where needed to help ensure the smooth running of the garden centre.

About You

• You hold a full, valid driving licence.

• You are reliable, punctual and well organised.

• You have a safe and responsible approach to driving.

• You are comfortable with lifting and moving items as part of the role.

• You have a friendly, helpful attitude and enjoy dealing with customers.

• You are happy to work independently while also supporting the wider team when required.

Working Hours

The role is for one 8-hour shift per week, working from 9:00am to 5:30pm. The working day is flexible but must fall between Monday and Friday.

The fixed-term contract will run until 8 January 2027.
