- Supporting initial site appraisals by gathering information on legal ownership, planning status and local residential values, preparing analysis and contributing to land value assessments.
- Preparing clear reports, summaries and recommendations for review by senior colleagues.
- Supporting discussions with landowners, key stakeholders, local authorities, agents and consultants, including preparing information and attending meetings as required.
- Review national and local planning policy and working with planning consultants to assess site suitability and development potential of sites.
- Work with technical teams to assess site constraints, opportunities and infrastructure requirements.
- Coordinate commercial, legal, planning, technical and environmental due diligence to inform recommendations for land acquisitions.
- Liaising with vendors, agents and external consultants to arrange site surveys and gather relevant information.
- Assist with the preparation, negotiation and progression of heads of terms, exclusivity agreements, option agreements, conditional contracts and other land agreements, working with solicitors and senior colleagues.
- Support in the preparation of planning applications for new sites including instructing and managing consultants, coordinating and reviewing planning reports and supporting information required for pre-application engagement, planning submission and post-submission consultee responses.
- Provide consultants with accurate briefs and site information, maintain a clear audit trail, and ensure outputs are properly recorded and circulated.
- Maintain accurate project records and contribute to reports, presentations, board papers and internal approval submissions.
- Supporting budget tracking and cost monitoring in relation to land opportunities and consultant activity.
- Prepare and maintain development appraisals, working with internal teams to ensure cost, sales and delivery assumptions are accurate.

- Strong numerical capability, with confidence interpreting development appraisals and financial information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify key risks, opportunities and sensitivities.
- Proactive, organised and able to use your initiative.
- Excellent written English, including the ability to prepare concise, high-quality reports and recommendations.
- Confident verbal communication and relationship-management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of the UK residential development process, including land acquisition, planning, design, construction and sales.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint; experience of development appraisal, mapping or land-search systems is desirable.
