The role

At Beaverbrook, we believe exceptional guest experiences start with exceptional people. We're looking for a Training & Engagement Manager who is passionate about helping people learn, grow and enjoy coming to work.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and will take the lead on our overall training across the Estate. You'll be responsible for making sure our teams have the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to do their jobs well and deliver the high standards our guests expect.

Working closely with the HR Director and department leaders, you'll take ownership of our training programme - from welcoming and introducing new starters, through to ongoing training and development for our teams and managers.

You'll also support our wider employee engagement activities and manage our Training & Engagement Advisor.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking overall responsibility for training across Beaverbrook, making sure our teams receive the right training at the right time.
  • Planning, organising and delivering training for colleagues across all departments.
  • Creating engaging and practical training sessions covering areas such as service, leadership, management, compliance and personal development.
  • Making sure every new starter receives a great introduction to Beaverbrook and has the training they need to get off to a confident start.
  • Working with department managers to understand their teams' training needs and put the right support in place.
  • Keeping our training programme fresh, relevant and engaging.
  • Supporting managers with the development of their teams.
  • Managing our online learning system and making sure colleagues can easily access the training they need.
  • Keeping track of training completion and using feedback to identify where further training may be helpful.
  • Supporting apprenticeships and early career development.
  • Helping with employee engagement, recognition and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Managing and developing our Training & Engagement Advisor.
  • Championing a culture where people are encouraged to learn, develop and deliver exceptional service.

Who you are

You'll be someone who enjoys training people and seeing them grow in confidence. You'll be comfortable standing in front of a group, explaining things clearly and adapting your approach to different people and departments.

You'll ideally have

  • Experience delivering training, coaching or people development.
  • Experience creating and running training sessions or workshops.
  • The confidence to train people at all levels, from new starters to managers.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to plan and manage a varied training programme.
  • A friendly, approachable and engaging personality.
  • Experience supporting or managing others.
  • A practical and creative approach to training.
  • An interest in helping people develop and creating a positive workplace culture.
Hospitality experience would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in candidates who share our commitment to exceptional service and people development
