About the company & team
You will be joining a dynamic and ambitious marketing team, committed to telling our story and connecting with audiences. You will have the chance to attend standout live events, including at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Barbican Centre in London, Manchester's Aviva Studios, the BBC Proms, and on tour across the UK. You will have the chance to collaborate closely with the BBC's other Orchestras and Choirs, as well as marketing teams across the BBC. This is an exciting role, with opportunities for growth across all areas of marketing.
Founded in 1922, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra is the oldest radio orchestra in the world, and the BBC's orchestra for the North of England. They are part of the cultural fabric of Greater Manchester and when they are not in the studio, they can often be found performing in schools or working with children and young people right across the region. They are also the orchestra behind the award-winning television series for Cbeebies, Musical Storyland, which has now been streamed over 14 million times.
For over 90 years, the BBC Symphony Orchestra has been a driving force in the British musical landscape, championing contemporary works, highlighting neglected composers and performing music at the heart of the classical repertoire. The BBC SO is Orchestra in Residence at the BBC Proms, performing regularly throughout the festival each year, and presents an annual season of concerts at the Barbican in London where it is Associate Orchestra. A wide ranging education and community programme sees the BBC SO working with schools, young people and families in East London ahead of its move to Stratford's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
