The role
What if your next step led further than you thought?
With a reputation built over 150 years, BAM has the depth, scale and momentum to offer you more than a next step. We offer you a path. One that can take you across sectors, into leadership, or even around the world. We invest in development because we want our people to stay and grow. Wherever you want to go, we'll help you get there.
BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Senior Design Manager to join the Central region. Reporting to the Regional Design Manager. You will oversee the design management discipline, digital discipline, and establish and monitor robust strategies for new opportunities during pre-construction.
Building a sustainable tomorrow. That's our mission and our promise at BAM. It's how we engineer vital infrastructure and construct high-quality buildings as one of the largest construction companies in Europe.
We strive to create an environment where everybody feels welcome and valued. We're on an exciting journey to employ the best talent to join us regardless of social background, race, colour, religion, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability or other characteristics.
What you'll do
You will be required to manage the design process to deliver technically compliant, cost-efficient and coordinated design packages, during both the pre-construction and project delivery stages.
Liaise with subcontractors, design team members and external consultants, creating a collaborative environment to deliver design information that meets the clients requirements and conforms to building regulations.
Overseeing a variety of contract types and multiple live projects, you will manage the design information release, production and approval of technical drawings, chair design workshops, coordinate complex design packages, and validate design details, adding value to the construction process.
Providing expert guidance and technical support, you will work closely with both clients and project teams to identify and mitigate risks, as well as ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and planning requirements.
Assisting with the selection and scope of suitable subcontractors for Contractor Design Portions and working drawings
Hiring process
BAM is committed to ensuring a fully inclusive recruitment and onboarding process, so if at any time you feel you may need any reasonable adjustments, do not hesitate to speak with one of our team, and we will do our best to support you. "Join us in Making Possible"
