Skills

The role

We're looking to connect with experienced Pipefitters as we prepare our Building Fitout workforce for the next stages of the project.

For this particular campaign, we're interested in people with experience of building services pipework installations, rather than solely heavy mechanical/process piping.

The Opportunity

Bring your pipefitting skills to one of the UK's most significant new energy projects

Balfour Beatty is building the skilled workforce that will help deliver the Building Fitout works on Net Zero Teesside Power, and we're looking to hear from experienced Pipefitters interested in joining us.

Net Zero Teesside Power is a major part of the UK's transition towards a lower-carbon energy future, bringing together power generation and carbon capture technology on a major scale, creating an exciting new chapter for energy and engineering on Teesside.

This is an opportunity to bring your building services pipework experience to a major engineering and construction programme and play a hands-on role in delivering new UK energy infrastructure.

This is a site based role in Teesside.

Your experience might include

  • Building services pipework installation
  • Heating and cooling systems
  • Hot and cold-water services
  • Mechanical services installations
  • Pumps, valves and associated components
  • Pipe supports and brackets
  • Working from mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Installation within plant rooms
  • Testing and commissioning support
  • Working alongside electrical, ductwork and other building services trades

Who we're looking for

You'll be an experienced Pipefitter with a strong understanding of building services installation and an eye for quality.

We're keen to hear from people who can demonstrate:

  • Previous pipefitting experience within building services, major construction or similar environments
  • Experience installing mechanical building services pipework
  • The ability to accurately work from drawings, specifications and instructions
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices
  • Commitment to quality and right-first-time installation
  • Ability to work effectively alongside other building services trades
  • A professional approach and pride in your workmanship

Why Net Zero Teesside?

This is an opportunity to use your trade on a project that goes well beyond a conventional building fitout.

You'll be part of a wider team delivering the buildings and infrastructure that support Net Zero Teesside Power, bringing together skilled trades from across the building services and engineering sectors.

Interested? We want to hear from you.

We're building our workforce now and want to start conversations with experienced Building Services Pipefitters interested in joining the project.

Whether you're actively considering your next move or simply want to know more about what's coming, we'd like to hear from you.

Register your interest today and take the first step towards joining Balfour Beatty on Net Zero Teesside Power.
