The role

Are you an experienced Bid Manager looking to play a key role in securing major infrastructure projects within the UK power sector?

We’re looking for a Bid Manager to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business, taking ownership of bids from opportunity qualification through to contract award and successful handover into delivery.

Working across Business Development, Pre-Construction, Operations, Commercial, Estimating, Design and Proposals, you’ll bring together multidisciplinary teams to develop compelling, competitive and customer-focused submissions.

You don’t necessarily need to come directly from Power. We’re keen to hear from experienced Bid Managers with a strong background in construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure, particularly those used to managing complex tenders and bringing multiple disciplines together through the work-winning process.

What you'll do

As a Bid Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage bids from qualification through to contract award and handover
  • Develop bid strategies, win themes and delivery approaches alongside senior stakeholders and bid teams
  • Build and manage tender programmes, bid plans and submission activities
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality, compliant and compelling submissions
  • Lead bid meetings, workshops, peer reviews, settlement meetings and governance activities
  • Manage bid budgets, resources, risks and opportunities
  • Coordinate technical, commercial and operational input to create a cohesive overall proposition
  • Ensure appropriate legal, commercial and technical reviews are completed and incorporated into submissions
  • Build strong relationships with customers, consultants, partners and supply chain organisations
  • Support customer presentations, interviews and wider engagement activity
  • Manage clarification registers, submission information and associated document control
  • Capture and share lessons learned and best practice to continually improve our work-winning approach
  • Lead the effective handover of successful bids into our operational delivery teams
