What we're looking for
- Degree qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong software engineering background with proven experience in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, C# or Ada.
- Practical experience developing embedded software solutions within a structured engineering environment.
- An understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements capture and design through to implementation, integration and testing.
The role
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering cutting-edge software solutions for mission-critical hardware systems. Working on complex aerospace and defence products, you will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from requirements capture and design through to development, integration, verification and support. Working closely with systems, hardware and test engineers, you will contribute to the development of sophisticated real-world systems that must perform reliably in demanding operational environments. Your work will directly support capabilities used by military personnel in frontline operations, where quality, performance and reliability are paramount.
What you'll do
- Design, develop and test software solutions in accordance with project requirements, quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Contribute to the generation of requirements and technical solution design, working closely with systems, hardware and test engineers.
- Support system integration, verification and testing activities to ensure successful delivery of complex aerospace and defence products.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, ensuring compliance with project processes, engineering governance and configuration management requirements.
- Participate in peer reviews, provide accurate progress reporting, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
