The role
Customer Support Engineer
Avtron is a global leader in the design and manufacture of load banks and dynamometers, supplying customers across the power generation, utilities, defence and industrial sectors. We are committed to engineering excellence, innovation and delivering quality products right first time.
About the Role
We are looking for a practical, technically minded Customer Support Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in electrical engineering who enjoys fault-finding, diagnosing electrical faults and solving challenging technical problems.
What you'll do
Based primarily at our UK service centre in Stamford, you'll support customers and colleagues in diagnosing and resolving faults across Avtron's load bank and dynamometer products. This will involve investigating electrical and control systems, interpreting technical drawings and schematics, testing equipment and carrying out repairs.
You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of technical challenges, contribute ideas to improve how we work and develop your engineering expertise. Previous experience with load banks or dynamometers isn't required - we're interested in your existing electrical engineering skills, practical fault-finding ability and enthusiasm for learning new equipment.

Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation to support fault diagnosis and repair.
Provide technical assistance by telephone and email, guiding customers through electrical and control system faults and helping them return equipment to service.
Test, troubleshoot, repair and refurbish electrical and electromechanical equipment at our UK service centre.
Identify recurring faults and contribute to improvements in repair methods, technical documentation and customer support.
