The Role

We're looking for a DRS Project Coordinator to help shape and deliver Asda's Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) strategy.

You'll lead the commercial and product implementation of DRS across all in-scope categories, ensuring we meet legislative requirements while protecting sales, enhancing the customer experience and creating opportunities to drive footfall into stores.

Working with teams across Buying, Supply Chain, Technology, Marketing, Retail Operations and external suppliers, you'll turn complex legislation, customer insights and market trends into practical plans that support a successful DRS launch.

Reporting to the Lead Trading Manager - Soft Drinks, you'll work closely with the DRS Project Manager and senior stakeholders across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and coordinate Asda's end-to-end DRS proposition across products, customers and suppliers.
  • Analyse customer, market and competitor insights to identify opportunities and shape commercial recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to support implementation and unlock commercial opportunities.
  • Support product, packaging and range strategies that minimise customer disruption and protect category performance.
  • Help develop clear and engaging customer communications across stores, online and loyalty channels.
  • Own the product implementation plan, including launches, barcode transitions and supplier readiness activities.
  • Manage project milestones, risks and dependencies, ensuring delivery stays on track.
  • Act as a central point of contact, bringing together teams across the business to drive alignment and successful execution.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong commercial and analytical skills.
  • Experience delivering complex projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to turn data and insights into clear recommendations and action plans.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience in Buying, Category Management, FMCG, Retail Operations or a similar commercial environment is desirable.

What Success Looks Like

  • Successful delivery of DRS implementation milestones.
  • Smooth transition to DRS-compliant products and processes.
  • Commercial recommendations adopted and delivered across the business.
  • Protection and growth of category performance.
  • Increased customer engagement and store footfall through DRS initiatives.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment.

Why This Role Matters

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of the biggest changes facing UK retail. You'll help shape how Asda responds to DRS, ensuring we're ready for launch while creating a proposition that works for customers, suppliers and the business.

Everything you'll love

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.

You will also get an excellent benefits package including:

  • Discretionary company bonus

  • Company pension up to 7% matched

  • 15% colleague discount in store and online

  • Free access to wellbeing services such as Stream, 24/7 virtual GP, counselling, health and dental cash plans and a 24/7 employee assistance helpline, alongside discounts across a range of services and activities, from airport parking, enhanced to theme parks and cinemas.

  • Asda Allies Inclusion Networks - helping colleagues to make sure everybody is included and that our differences are recognised and celebrated

  • Excellent parental leave policies, including maternity & adoption leave, paternity leave, shared parental leave, neonatal care leave, and support for those doing fertility treatments.

We want all colleagues to be able to bring their best and true selves to work, every day. Simply put, we want our colleagues to be Proud to be Asda and proud to be themselves
