Skills

The role

As a Quality Engineer at our Elmdon Plant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products consistently meet customer and industry quality standards. Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, you will act as the key quality contact throughout the full product lifecycle, from new programme launch through to end of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, driving continuous improvement, and influencing quality performance across manufacturing operations. You'll help deliver robust processes, support new product introduction activities, and ensure customer expectations are fully understood and achieved.

What you'll do

You will lead the resolution of customer quality concerns, provide proactive support and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented through structured problem-solving methods such as 8D. You will manage quality requirements for new products through APQP, PPAP, ISIR and capability activities, while supporting prototype builds, design reviews and production launches.

The role includes developing measurement systems and control plans, supporting PFMEA activities, conducting internal and external audits, managing customer quality KPIs, and working with suppliers to improve quality performance. You will also monitor warranty performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support production teams through quality training and guidance.

About You

You are an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in automotive Tier 1 manufacturing and a passion for delivering exceptional quality standards. You have a qualification such as a Degree, HND, HNC, IQA or equivalent, alongside a strong understanding of automotive quality systems including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP and PPAP.

Experience within plastics manufacturing and exposure to Jaguar Land Rover programmes would be advantageous. You combine analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving, communication and influencing skills, allowing you to build effective relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues. Adaptable and customer-focused, you thrive in a fast-paced environment where quality excellence is paramount.
