Senior Ecologist

• Experience in leadingor significantly contributing tothe preparation ofecological surveys, HRA, andenvironmental impact assessments fornew developments and operational permitting applications.

• Qualification background inecology,zoology, botany, marine sciencesor equivalent.

• Chartered ecologist, environmentalist, or scientist.

• We are also willing to consider ecologistswho are recent postgraduates.

• Knowledge of any one of these: air quality management, noise abatement policy and legislation, or dispersion modelling methodologies for terrestrial and/or marine environments.

• Licensed bat ecologist with experience of leading bat surveys, including preliminary roost assessments and dusk/dawn surveys, in-line with current UK best practice and legislation.

• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle challenges.

• Willingness to travel on business as required, including visits to overseas sites.

• Contribute toenvironmental impact assessmentsand development consent order projects.

• Lead on site visits, ecological surveys, marine ecologyand meet client project managers.

• Lead in the production of screening and scoping reports to support planning applications.

• Develop a reputation within the sector bydeveloping innovative methods of impact assessment for terrestrial, marine, coastal, and ecological impacts.

• Develop best available techniques for environmental assessments that consider climate resilience, emissions, noise, biodiversity, water discharges, and heritage.

The successful candidate will work alongsideother ecologists, environmentalists & geoscientiststo deliver ecological based appraisals as standalone deliverables or integration into wider site development and planning support work.
