The role

Are you a results-oriented leader who thrives on using data to drive meaningful change? Amazon Operations is where we ensure every customer order is fulfilled and dispatched efficiently. As an Area Manager, you will own the end-to-end operational performance of your area, leading change management initiatives, managing projects, and making data-driven decisions that directly improve safety, quality, and productivity. You will partner with stakeholders across the site to solve real operational challenges. If you are someone who can balance hands-on operational management with strategic thinking, this role gives you the platform to make a visible impact every single shift.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and sustain a culture of safety and wellbeing by proactively identifying risks, integrating safety into shift planning, and ensuring protocols are consistently followed across your area
- Drive change management initiatives within your area, using operational data to identify improvement opportunities, build action plans, and implement process changes that raise quality and productivity
- Manage shift performance by analyzing key metrics, deep-diving data to uncover root causes, and putting corrective actions in place to meet site objectives
- Coordinate with stakeholders across departments - including safety, learning, and HR teams - to align on priorities, share performance insights, and deliver on cross-functional projects

A day in the life
You will start your early shift by reviewing overnight performance data and setting priorities with your team during the pre-shift stand-up, where safety is always the first topic. From there, you will spend time on the floor conducting safety walks, and responding to real-time operational needs. Between hands-on management, you will deep-dive metrics, collaborate with peer managers and support teams on active projects, and drive progress on change management initiatives within your area. You will also mentor newer managers, helping them build confidence in their own leadership.

About the team
Our Operations team is focused on delivering a reliable, high-quality experience for customers by continuously improving how we fulfil and dispatch orders. We work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where every team member - from associates to senior leaders - plays a role in keeping our sites running safely and efficiently. We are investing in process improvements and leadership development to raise the bar on operational performance, and this role is central to that effort. If you are excited by the prospect of leading a team, shaping how work gets done, and growing your career within Amazon Operations, we would love to hear from you.
