Electrical Bias Mechanical & Electrical Fitter

Rate: £42 per hour
Contract: 6 months

Our client, a leading organisation within the rail industry, is seeking an experienced Electrical Bias Mechanical & Electrical Fitter to join their team at Acton Railway Engineering Works, supporting S Stock upgrades.

The Role

• Carry out electrical and mechanical fitting, assembly and modification work.

• Read and follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.

• Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.

• Carry out electrical installation, wiring and associated fitting work.

• Correctly set and use torque wrenches, including witness marking.

• Use basic measuring equipment including Vernier calipers and micrometers.

• Work with overhead cranes and other workshop equipment, with training provided.

• Maintain and modify complex electrical and mechanical systems.

About You

• Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent.

• Previous experience as an Electrical Fitter, Electrical Technician or Mechanical & Electrical Fitter.

• Strong electrical fitting/assembly experience with a mechanical aptitude.

• Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings and technical instructions.

• Rail, rolling stock or heavy engineering experience is highly desirable.

• Strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail.

£42 per hour | 6-month contract | Acton
